Last fall Norwex introduced the Ergo-bend attachment for the mop handle. It adds some inches to the handle and allows you to clean under furniture without having to bend over. I’ve created a video for you to see exactly how it works and how I use it.
It may seem hard to do in our ‘throw-away’ society, but you really can stop using paper towels in your kitchen. I have greatly cut back on my paper towel use. I never did like to use them much, probably because I’m frugal and hated throwing the towel out after just one use!
Did you know…
…paper towels are made with chlorine, which releases harmful chemicals into the air and onto your food?
…40% of the US landfills are paper trash?
…paper products that have ANY food products, grease or body fluids can not be recycled?
…3000 tons of paper towel waste are created every single day?
I use the Norwex kitchen towel and kitchen cloth set instead. Norwex microfiber holds 8 times its weight and cleans up any kind of dirt or spill in your kitchen. I use the kitchen towel to dry my hands and dishes. The towel dries quickly and can go a long time between laundering.
Both the Norwex kitchen towel and kitchen cloth contain micro silver so they self-purify. Use Norwex Kitchen Set for days in your kitchen with no musty smell. And…they are a Customer Special for April!
Have you seen the Safe Haven House at Norwex? It’s an online, interactive, easy-to-use little gem helping you to understand how to reduce chemicals in your home. The kids might even find it fun.
You can navigate to different rooms in your home and see how to use your Norwex products as well. Nifty little resource. Check it out here.
Do you have mineral deposits, scale, on your sinks and showers? Faucets and water dispensers? How would you know? It’s that white crusty stuff that forms where water sits or drips.
You see the water we use is mostly taken from the ground and that means it has microscopic bits of dissolved stone, or ‘mineral deposits’. So when water sits on a surface or drips from a faucet, tiny bits of minerals are left behind and over time these build up and cause scale.
How do you remove the scale you ask? Norwex makes a fantabulous Descaler that works like magic!! See the before and after pictures? Aren’t they great? I can’t say enough good things about this product! I absolutely LOVE it!!
Remember the scale got on the surface over time, in layers; so when you use our descaler it might take a few applications to remove all the scale because you will be removing it in layers as well. When I initially use descaler on a surface I usually have to apply it a few times to get the build up off. Then I can use just enough as a ‘maintenance’ amount.
Do you need some? Shop for Norwex Descaler on my website.
It’s March, time to spring clean all around the house right? Well maybe not – I’d rather be outside enjoying the warm weather! One job I can get done really quick is cleaning my fireplace doors. I use a Norwex basic package, some water and Norwex Ultra Power Plus laundry detergent (UPP).
Watch how I clean my fireplace doors in less than 5 minutes!
Here are written instructions
- Spray bottle of UPP – Add about 1 teaspoon of UPP to an 8 oz. spray bottle, fill with water. Shake to dissolve.
- Put a wet enviro cloth under the door to be cleaned, this will catch the drips.
- Spray fireplace door with the spray bottle of UPP. Let it sit for about 2 minutes. (The creosote will start to run off the door when the liquid starts to work. This is where your enviro drip cloth comes in handy.)
- Now take your enviro cloth and wipe the door clean.
- You may have to repeat the process if your door is really dirty.
- Use your Purple Polish (Window) Cloth to dry the door to a streak-free shine.
NOW – go take a break! You deserve it for being so smart!
Two what? Two dusting mitts! Because why? Because you can put one on each hand.
Now rub them together to get the static going and dust halfway around the house. Next, change the dust mitts to the opposite hands and voilá, you have two clean sides to finish the dusting.
OR – give one to each kid so no one is left out. OR – give one to your significant other to help you dust, sharing chores gets it done quicker so more time for fun!
And wouldn’t ya know it – this month Norwex offers the Spring Cleaning Power Pack just for this purpose!
Norwex sells a Rubber Brush – which by the way is AWESOME!! There are lots of uses for the Rubber Brush. I’ll list some here, but you may have some of your own. We’d love to hear what they are, so feel free to share in the comments.
Use the Rubber Brush to:
- Clean the yellow Mop Head when it’s full of dirt.
- Clean animal fur off your microfiber furniture.
- Brush the crumbs off the floor of your car.
- Clean the animal hair out of the animal bed.
- Brush dust and dirt off the dust mitt or envirowand.
- Brush your dog or cat.
- Brush lint and hair off your wool coat.
And it’s soooo easy to keep clean – just run it under water! Here’s a video of me and a helper using The Rubber Brush.
